Our Mission

Qualistar Early Learning is dedicated to improving child development and age-appropriate learning experiences for all children by collaboratively creating a statewide system that:

  • promotes high-quality child-centered care
  • supports and empowers parents as teachers and decision makers
  • is adequately funded and permanently sustainable

History

Qualistar Early Learning is the result of an innovative merger in 2004 of two of Colorado’s non-profit leaders in early education – Educare Colorado and the Colorado Office of Resource and Referral Agencies (CORRA).

Educare, along with many community leaders, created what is known today as the Qualistar Rating, which measures the quality of child care and preschool programs across the state.

Accomplishments

Over the years, the organizations that formed Qualistar Early Learning have made significant strides in early childhood. We have:

  • Helped more 350,000 families find child care
  • Provided safer playgrounds for more than 6,400 children
  • Reduced turnover rate from 30 percent statewide to just 10 percent for those employees that receive the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship
  • Invested more than $5 million in quality improvements for early childhood statewide
