Boettcher Capital Grant Application
Qualistar Early Learning is pleased to announce the September 2010 application process for grants to improve or expand your child care facility in conjunction with your quality-improvement journey.This competitive grant program is available to eligible Colorado nonprofits serving children birth to 5 years. Starting with the current application cycle, the Boettcher Foundation Early Learning Capital Fund will be organized into three tiers of grants: $1-$5,000 (Tier 1); $5,001-$15,000 (Tier 2); and $15,001-$25,000 (Tier 3). For tier-specific eligibility requirements, refer to the application document above.The next application deadline is September 3, 2010. The Buell Foundation is continuing its successful Qualistar Rating Project for another 100 classrooms! If your early childhood program is located OUTSIDE of Denver County, and it has never had a Qualistar rating, you might be eligible to apply. The Colorado Physical Activity and Nutrition (COPAN) Program
COPAN's mission is to prevent obesity and related chronic diseases, and to promote healthy lifestyles for all Coloradans. One of COPAN's main charges is to implement the Colorado Physical Activity and Nutrition State Plan 2010. The plan addresses education, community outreach, policy, and environmental support in schools, worksites, healthcare settings, and communities. In addition, COPAN has developed six resource kits aimed at simplifying the processes of assessing, planning, and implementing nutrition and physical activity programs and policies throughout Colorado. COPAN’s Child Care Champions Best Practices guidebook and the Colorado Early Childhood Resource Kit (found at www.livewellcolorado.com).
